CIAA appoints Chief Operations Officer

The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Kerith McCoy as Chief Operations Officer (COO) effective July 1, 2012.   

Mr. McCoy, who grew up in Bodden Town, has enjoyed a distinguished 36-year career in the local airport industry and is currently the longest-serving member of the CIAA’s Team. He He joined the Authority in 1976 as a Trainee Air Traffic Controller before becoming a licensed Air Traffic Control Officer in 1977, a position he held for 11 years. During the next seven years he worked the ranks in junior management before gradually moving up to serve in senior management where he has been for the past 17 years heading up the airport operations department. Over the past eight years as Senior Manager Airport Operations (Owen Roberts International Airport), he built solid relationships with external regulatory bodies, government agencies and other local organisations, as well as airport partners, colleagues and the general public, which, coupled with extensive professional development has prepared him well for his new role as Chief Operations Officer.
