The Cayman Islands Airports Authority (CIAA), which operates the Owen Roberts International Airport (ORIA) on Grand Cayman and the Charles Kirkconnell International Airport (CKIA) on Cayman Brac, proudly congratulate the recent promotions of two Caymanian employees at CKIA.
Franceska Scott and Rodney Dixon were both successful in their interview and recruitment process and were promoted earlier in 2025.
Franceska has been promoted to Aeronautical Information Services (AIS) Supervisor, a role that ensures the accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of critical flight information such as NOTAMs, charts, and publications, supporting safe and efficient air navigation. She has been a valuable and dedicated member of the CKIA AIS department since 25 August 2008. Over the years, her unwavering commitment and expertise have consistently stood out. On 1 January 2025, she earned her promotion as AIS Supervisor (CKIA), a true reflection of her exceptional leadership and professionalism.
Franceska’s dedication to growth is evident through the completion of several key training programmes, including the ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management. She is also a certified On-the-Job Training (OJT) instructor. Most recently, Franceska proudly represented the CIAA at the 2025 National Hurricane Conference in New Orleans, Louisiana in April 2025.
Rodney has been promoted to Air Traffic Control (ATC) Supervisor, a position responsible for managing daily air traffic operations, overseeing air traffic controllers, ensuring compliance with international aviation standards, and coordinating with airport and airline stakeholders to maintain the safe and efficient movement of aircraft.
He has been an integral member of the CKIA ATC department since 4 January 2008. His dedication and exemplary performance led to his appointment as ATC Supervisor (CKIA) on 1 December 2024.
Holding an MBA in International Business, Rodney possesses a distinctive combination of strategic insight and operational expertise. He has advanced his professional credentials by earning the ILM Level 3 Certificate in Leadership and Management, along with certification as an On-the-Job Training (OJT) instructor, demonstrating his dedication to personal and professional growth.
Rodney has refined his leadership and operational capabilities through the successful completion of advanced supervisory courses with EUROCONTROL and Takeoff Aviation Academy-UK, further increasing his effectiveness in his supervisory role.
CKIA Airport Manager Joshua Burke shared, “We are very proud to acknowledge the promotions of these two exemplary employees, both of whom are from Cayman Brac.” He added, “These are both vital roles at the Airport and we are confident in both Franceska and Rodney’s professional abilities to successfully fulfil the requirements for their new posts.”
